Our research hotspots
The research hotbeds of the Uniautónoma del Cauca are meeting spaces for students and professors that help in the process of training new researchers, stimulate and enable the consolidation of research skills of different kinds, in the pursuit of the formation of a critical community. , with free and innovative thinking.
Today, the Institution has twenty-three (23) duly recognized and active research centers, with the presence of ten (10) students on average for each nursery, which means that there are more than two hundred (200) members of the student establishment involved in various projects. , research training activities, among another important group of activities that revolve around the work agendas of each nursery, according to their lines of research.
As a result of the aforementioned work, during the year 2019, twelve (12) students who were members of nurseries managed to publish, together with their professors, articles in indexed journals, thus achieving a valuable impact on their research. In the same way, obtaining their degrees from this modality of degree work offered by the Institution.
In the same sense, and during the health emergency phase experienced in our country during the year (2020), research hotbeds such as energy management, attached to the Faculty of Engineering, with the leadership of professors and students, have managed to contribute. to the pandemic with the design of an industrial prototype called COVIDA . This prototype is in the implementation phase for the sterilization of surgical implements and accessories infected by the COVID-19 virus.
These and other projects and achievements of our students in their training stages as researchers actively contribute to the institutional research agenda, as the main protagonists of the good performance and positioning of our university community in the field of research at the regional and national levellevels.
